Frequently asked questions
What if I don’t know what colors I want?
We always assist you with deciding what colors suit your personality, the style of your home and the use of the room. We will help you get sample pots, or provide sample boards to ensure you will like the colors you have selected.
Does Someone Have to Remain Home While the Painting is Being Done?
Not at all. If you feel more comfortable this way, we can work while you are out of the house. Our painters are insured and screened to you can feel secure and confident.
How many Painters will be in my home?
That depends on the size of the job, and whether or not scaffolding is required. On most standard sized jobs, there will be between three and five painters on a medium to large size job.
How Often Should I Paint the Interior of My Home?
There are many factors that go into this answer, but the typical home interior should be painted every 6-10 years. Factors that influence the exact time frame include quality of paint, amount of traffic, presence of fireplaces or smokers, and pets.
How Do You Protect My Furniture During the Painting Project?
Generally, we will move all of your furniture to the middle of the room and cover it with plastic or drop cloths. For more involved projects, especially with ceiling work, we will remove the furniture from the room and secure it prior to beginning the project.
What Kind of Surface Preparation do you Perform?
This is covered in detail on our Client Manual. We fill all holes, sand all work, fill and sand cracks, and caulk around windows as needed. Any mildew or stains are cleaned prior to painting and we do not begin until the surface is 100% dry.
Do You Provide Free Estimates?
We provide free painting quotes. Since we have been leading Maplewood NJ house painting contractors for over 25 years, we have found a pricing system that works. We figure that if we are not able to provide you with an exact quote, rather than a ballpark estimate, we shouldn’t be in business.
What Kind of Paint Do You Use?
We use only top of the line paints and primers for our client home projects. Usually, this includes Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. During our initial consultation, we will guide you on choosing the right paint for your rooms and different applications.
